ADAPT Student Spotlight
Are you a practitioner trying to transition to Functional Medicine? In my ADAPT Practitioner Training Program, students have a wide variety of backgrounds. Take a look at what these students had to say about their experience adding ADAPT training to their practice in these interviews.
A strong foundation in Functional Medicine—combined with an ancestral perspective—will dramatically improve your results with patients, open many doors for practice growth, and help you feel more engaged and satisfied with your work.
I asked some current students in ADAPT to share how the training is helping them to accomplish their specific goals. Here are some of the responses (be sure to check out part 2 and part 3 of this series).

What was your experience with Functional Medicine before you enrolled in ADAPT?
I had taken a few short seminars and read many books about Functional Medicine. I had been working with patients and getting fair results, but knew I could have better knowledge and business flow.
What has your experience of ADAPT been like so far in terms of the learning experience (delivery, pacing, difficulty, etc.)?
Pacing has been excellent, the “work at your own schedule” is great, and the support network is plentiful if you have any questions. You can watch videos, read transcripts, take quizzes and case studies, and be far more involved in the coursework than with other programs.
What has your experience of ADAPT been like so far in terms the quality of the material?
The quality of the material is literally unmatched. I have seen and gone through other Functional Medicine curriculum where everything feels outdated and a copy of a copy. The Kresser Institute is completely a step above the rest in terms of quality, recent information, and also, showing you how to effectively and efficiently run a business. As we all know coming from healthcare, how to run the business is not taught, and Chris is a master at running a lean, delegated, and distributed team. I am so happy that this is a program that is top notch in both clinical knowledge AND how to run a lean clinic. (Tip: Business is NOT a bad thing. The more efficiently it is run, the more people you can help.)
What has your experience of ADAPT been like so far in terms the interaction with other students?
The private Facebook group has been an excellent way to bounce ideas off of each other and pool resources. It is amazing to have a support group like that.
Tell us a little bit about how this training is helping you with your future plans—helping you realize your vision?
Since I started the training, I’ve used the core business principles to quadruple the revenue from my business and literally help thousands of people. I was wondering if the ROI was going to be there, but the first two weeks and the course paid for itself, and has yielded about 30x the entry fee already. Seriously.
My future plans and vision have changed 180 degrees. I went from stressed out working 80 hours in my clinic a week to complete freedom of my schedule to be able to focus on research, learning, and providing greater value to more and more people. I can’t believe how quick the transformation was.
What would you say to someone else like you—with similar training and background—who is considering enrolling in ADAPT?
The knowledge, application, and business sense will all put you a step ahead of the game in every single area. You are literally taking shortcuts to paths in so many industries beyond just Functional Medicine.
Your clinical knowledge will be increased 10x—easily. Your ability to help more people will probably increase 20x. I can’t think of a better decision (other than committing to healthcare) that been more worth it than enrolling in the Kresser Institute.
Chris’s experience is unique. Not only has he synthesized the most important and effective clinical knowledge, but he has also built a massive online presence and knows how to reach the maximum audience for spreading the knowledge he has acquired. This is a very underrated mindset.
Do you have anything exciting you are involved in right now you want to tell us all about? Business expansion, website redesign, product development, rebranding, etc.?
Since beginning the course, I’ve taken my clinic almost entirely online and ramped up several other online businesses. This has allowed me to reach far more people than I had ever imagined, and I’m making a larger impact than ever.
Do you have a niche or particular area of expertise you want to tell us about? What kind of patients are you most interested in attracting?
I worked as a sports medicine and functional movement practitioner for a long period of time. People have the idea that if you do Functional Medicine, people have to be bleeding from their eyes or have uncontrollable digestive issues. Not true! I would say that the tools you learn from this can help so many more people optimize their life and achieve levels of health they didn’t know were possible.

What was your experience with Functional Medicine before you enrolled in ADAPT?
I studied and practiced FM prior to ADAPT and it was part of my practice.
What has your experience of ADAPT been like so far in terms of the learning experience (delivery, pacing, difficulty, etc.)?
ADAPT is allowing me to focus on FM and build my practice to another level where I am able to work independently and follow what I’m most interested in.
What has your experience of ADAPT been like so far in terms the quality of the material?
The ADAPT material is accessible for an entry-level FM practitioner. It is also extremely thorough, with lots of supplemental information and complexity.
What has your experience of ADAPT been like so far in terms the interaction with other students?
The colleagues I’m interacting with are a huge highlight of the program. It’s satisfying and very informative to be meeting with people from all over the world doing this work.
Tell us a little bit about how this training is helping you with your future plans—helping you realize your vision?
What Chris is really good at is reaching a large population and having a big impact on how people relate with health. My vision is to work with people engaged in health, and this course makes it possible to do this on a larger scale with a network of others doing the same.
What would you say to someone else like you—with similar training and background—who is considering enrolling in ADAPT?
Let’s change the conventional medical paradigm together by building something more effective that allows people to live their lives free from disease.
Do you have anything exciting you are involved in right now you want to tell us all about? Business expansion, website redesign, product development, rebranding, etc.?
My new website is almost ready for launching. I just found out today that the clinic I work at is closing, but it doesn’t phase me b/c my online platform is ready to go. Tonight I’m doing a public talk on “Gut, Brain and Hormone Health.” Next month I start teaching a two-month class that involves my website and engages local people.
Do you have a niche or particular area of expertise you want to tell us about? What kind of patients are you most interested in attracting?
Gut, “adrenal,” and thyroid health. Autoimmune disorders and working with women.
