I had a patient come in with Genova food sensitivity IgG test results. Can I get any reliable information from it?

Chris Kresser:  For most of the other IgG and IgA food intolerance testing, I tell patients it can be a useful starting off point for experimentation. If they see some foods on that test that they always kind of suspected were issues, or even if they didn’t, it still may be helpful to follow up on that test with the elimination reintroduction protocol to see if there if they’re onto something. I would never though tell a patient to completely remove foods from their diet forever or even for an extended period solely on the basis of that kind of test. I’ve said that about Cyrex as well with the exception of gluten. I don’t believe that these tests reflect things that are totally permanent, and I think they’re useful clinical tools, but if we do our jobs, there’s possibility for change in most cases.
