Kelsey Marksteiner: The way I use Genova testing is I do it through Direct Labs because I can’t order it myself. First of all, I’m in New York, and second of all, I’m a dietitian. So I have all my patients order through Direct Labs, or there are some labs that allow me to order through them. I just depends on the lab. If they’re being covered by insurance, then that’s a good question. I would think you would need to see them in person, but I’m not 100 percent sure just because I do this totally differently. That’s a good question. I would maybe ask Amy that. She might know. Yeah, I’m not sure just because I do it a totally different way to kind of skirt around that. For example, for SIBO testing, I will often just tell my patients, “If you can get that through your doctor, it will usually be covered by insurance, and that’s obviously going to be cheaper for you, so if you want to kind of explore that possibility before you maybe order it yourself, that’s totally fine and that can save you some money.” But, yeah, any tests I’m ordering aren’t going to be covered by insurance, so I just let people know that up front, and I would tell your patients that too if that’s the case for you. If you wanted it to be covered by insurance, I’m not totally sure on my end. I would definitely ask Amy.
