If you give sodium butyrate for intestinal permeability, what is the dosage?

Laura Schoenfeld: That question is definitely more of a functional medicine question just because I don’t know what Chris’s recommendations are for sodium butyrate dosage. I’m trying to remember the last time I did butyrate supplementation. Let me just look up the product that I use. The product that I used with a client that I did a butyrate supplementation with was a BodyBio product. Let’s see what the dosage on that was. Again, this is not representing Chris’s recommendations. This is just what I did with a client recently. This one contains about 3.6 grams of butyric acid for six capsules. That’s the recommendation for this particular product. I think that’s probably what I did because going much more than six capsules a day is kind of a lot for someone to be doing. Take that as you will. I don’t know what Chris’s recommendations are, but 3 to 4 grams of butyric acid as part of the supplement seems like a pretty normal dose to me.
