Iron is essential to life and health. We require it to create blood cells. Many of our bodily functions and systems are dependent on iron, including DNA synthesis; the conversion of blood sugar to energy; production of enzymes needed in creating new cells, hormones, amino acids, and neurotransmitters; and the efficient function of our immune system.

Iron imbalance is one of the most prevalent conditions in the world. More than 50 percent of the world’s population has iron imbalance or a condition worsened by iron imbalance. Iron deficiency anemia affects one-third of world population, or 2 billion people worldwide. Iron overload affects 35 million people worldwide.

Most are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed because understanding of these conditions in primary care settings is extremely limited.

In this 4-week seminar you’ll learn:
  • Why both iron deficiency and iron overload are underdiagnosed
  • Who is at risk for iron imbalance—and how to mitigate these risks
  • The best lab markers for identifying iron deficiency and overload
  • Why conventional lab ranges for iron markers are inadequate, and what ranges you should use instead
  • The telltale signs and symptoms of iron imbalance
  • How to treat iron deficiency and overload without drugs
  • Myths and truths about iron supplementation
  • And much more …
This course also includes
  • Case studies
  • Patient handouts
  • Clinician handouts
  • Reading recommendations
  • Quizzes for learning retention
