On the SIBO breath test, what does it mean if the hydromethane [is] low but combined as high?

Chris Kresser: Here’s one question from Shahn, “On the SIBO breath test, what does it mean if the hydromethane [is] low but combined as high?”

I think in [those] consensus criteria, the combined gases—the updated criteria in 2018—they deprecated the relevance of the combined gases. Generally, if methane and hydrogen are normal, I think that test result would be considered to be normal at this point.
