Susan Denny, MD, MPH

Susan D. Denny, MD, MPH, is the Medical Director and founder of Carolina Total Wellness in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina and is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She graduated with a BS in Biology with highest honors from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While an undergraduate, she participated in basic science research at the UNC Cystic Fibrosis Center and published peer-reviewed journal articles related to her research. She graduated from Duke University Medical School and completed her internal medicine residency training at Duke University Medical Center. She has a Masters of Public Health from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Public Health Leadership. She has completed certification in Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine.

Prior to founding Carolina Total Wellness, she was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center and worked as a physician for the Raleigh VA outpatient clinic. She has over 15 years of clinical experience and has also held the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University.

In 2013, Dr. Denny founded Carolina Total Wellness to better serve the healthcare needs of people in Raleigh and the surrounding area. She works closely with each patient to provide comprehensive medical evaluation and treatment as well as detailed health assessment and health promotion counseling. By incorporating the best diagnostic tools and technologies, from conventional medicine with emerging science to Functional Medicine, she helps patients to identify the critical imbalances that are at the root of illness.
