Dr. Amy Nett: I would probably check some additional markers of blood sugar, so fasting blood glucose. I’d probably have them do glucometer testing at home, so you can look both at fasting and postprandial and make sure their, you know—this is basically you’re concerned about the development—where the autoimmune disease is here, right? So, you’re concerned about progression. I would do probably the normal array of tests. What are they eating? Is there gluten? Is there dairy? If so, do Cyrex Array 3, Cyrex Array5, do gut testing, any toxicities. You’re basically looking to balance the immune system in this case, so get a better understanding of blood sugar maybe with glucometer testing, and do anything else you would for an autoimmune condition.
