Inside the Fellowship
Students gain direct exposure to the full arc of functional medicine care. A common example is observing a new patient evaluation from the first question asked to the development of a comprehensive plan. This includes:
- Building a detailed health history
- Identifying patterns
- Selecting appropriate diagnostic tests
- Interpreting results
- Organizing a targeted treatment plan while observing the communication dynamics between practitioner and patient.
Participants will see a wide range of clinical presentations. These may include autoimmune conditions, hormone imbalances across the lifespan, gut disorders such as SIBO, parasites or dysbiosis, chronic infections such as EBV or Lyme, environmental burdens such as heavy metals or mold, nutrient deficiencies, inflammatory conditions, mood and cognitive concerns, chronic fatigue syndrome, Long COVID and other complex cases that require advanced clinical reasoning and a systems based approach.
