Regarding the supplements for glycemic dysregulation, are they for both high blood sugar and low blood sugar (reactive hypoglycemia-type symptoms)?

Dr. Amy Nett:  So, the symptoms we talked about for glycemic dysregulation, primarily GlucoSupreme, I think you’re mentioning, GlucoSupreme and Metabolic Synergy. Those are really to address high blood sugar. High blood sugar, you know, we’re thinking about how can we improve insulin sensitivity and stabilize blood sugar throughout the day, and that’s really what the GlucoSupreme is targeted for, with a number of herbs that are going to be a little bit more supportive in terms of lowering blood sugar and improving insulin sensitivity. So, no, for reactive hypoglycemia, I would probably look more at cortisol as a potential underlying cause. I don’t think you want to use GlucoSupreme. Metabolic Synergy is a little bit more of a multivitamin, so again, look at the cortisol. Look at other factors. What are some of the other symptoms going on? Metabolic Synergy, yes, you could use as like more of a multivitamin but not specifically to address reactive hypoglycemia in and of itself.
