Chris Kresser: We’ve had really not very different results from those recommendations. We did actually have people eat significant amount of protein before the test, but there isn’t really a reference range for that, and it tends to change a bunch of different markers on the test, so I just prefer to do it with people eating their normal diet. Certainly, we don’t want people doing it the day after an abnormal diet because that can lead to wrong or results within the context of their normal diet. The purpose is to see what these markers are within the context of their normal diet, and there are situations where we do challenges that particularly methionine load homocysteine or something like that to test out certain genetic or metabolic pathways, but this is not a situation where we do it typically.
