Chris Kresser: Yes, it is fine. The main reason for taking it with food, in the case of Lauricidin, is just to avoid any stomach upset, but that doesn’t often happen with Lauricidin compared to maybe GI-Synergy, for example. With MegaSporeBiotic, according to the producer of MegaSporeBiotic, it works better in the presence of food and enzymes that we secrete to digest food, but I still think it would be better to take it rather than not take it.

- My question is related to the antimicrobial protocol. I’m halfway through the month and ran into an issue related to lunch. I have a cup of coffee with cream before leaving home around 8:20 or 8:30, eat breakfast around 10:15 by my office. Since I treat from 11 a.m. to 6 to 7 p.m. and I have a two-hour commute, I like to eat right before starting work. Around 3 to 4, I’ll usually have a sweet potato, but sometimes I don’t eat. Protocol advises taking Lauricidin and MegaSporeBiotic with food. I assume it’s fine to take without to avoid skipping a dose.
