In what percentage of your herbally treated ​H. pylori​ patients does reinfection occur subsequent [to] successful eradication?

Again, I can’t give you a specific percentage, but I’d say it’s actually fairly low. If I were to guess, it might be 20 or 25 percent. It can be transferred from family member to family member, so if you see a recurrence, we’ll often test other family members. We don’t always go for total eradication. As I mentioned, if ​H. pylori​ is on the lower end of the scale and there are no virulence factors, we might call it done. I think a lot of the recent research [is] suggesting that that’s a better approach. And just generally strengthening the gut overall, like, probiotics, prebiotics broth, healthy diet, all the things we talk about is the best approach of preventing a recurrence, especially after we tested family members.
