Chris Kresser: Those are for the healing and rebuilding stage, although, as I just said, there’s a school of thought that holds that the higher the fiber intake, the better, really, if it’s fermentable fiber, up to 100 grams or even more. I’m reluctant at this point to make the recommendation that everyone should be chowing down four tablespoons of potato starch and many other fibers on a daily basis, but I do think there’s enough research and enough just understanding of the contribution of the microbiome and microbial diversity to recommend a substantially higher fiber intake than even people on a typical Paleo diet are getting.
