Dr. Amy Nett: So hydrogen sulfide, what we’re seeing there is that you can have SIBO associated with hydrogen sulfide production, but we don’t have tests that measure hydrogen sulfide. You can’t see it, so you can’t measure it. It’s essentially a diagnosis of exclusion. So the test we’re making the jump on is when you do a SIBO breath test and you see really basically zeros and ones across the board for both hydrogen and methane. So if you see all zeros and ones for hydrogen and methane, at least for the first two hours, that is when I would think about hydrogen sulfide because normally you’re going to see at least some threes, some fours, maybe it’ll get up to seven or so for the hydrogen gas, but if the gases aren’t getting above zero and one, think about hydrogen sulfide in that case. So again, it is sort of a diagnosis of exclusion, but it’s also when you see unexpectedly low levels of either H2 or CH4. So hopefully that clarifies, and there is no test that can currently test hydrogen sulfide, diagnosis of exclusion. So hopefully that makes more sense, but I know it’s confusing.

- Can you explain again the issue of hydrogen sulfide related to false results on SIBO testing. Unclear about when you would make this guess. The issue is foggy, so any clarity is appreciated.
