Are you interested in taking clients that don’t know anything about transitioning to Paleo and really need help getting there?

Laura Schoenfeld:   I don’t really do meal planning as a service at this point, and I know Kelsey doesn’t either. I did post your request in the Paleo RDs group that I’m in, and I can put some more information about that in there because I think I was asking if there was anyone local to you in California that would potentially want to work with you. If you are just looking for someone who would be helping virtually, then there are 200 to 300 people in that group that could probably help you out. There are a bunch of those types of services available in that group because different RDs will have different focuses. There are some people that really do focus on that beginning transitioning to Paleo, making meal plans, doing really basic education. I don’t really do that anymore. It’s not really something I enjoy, and I’m trying to be a little bit more mindful about the kind of clients I take and make sure that I’m taking clients who fit what I want to be doing as far as the impact I want to have in people’s lives.

I can share that request in the group again, or I can put your email address in there if you want me to share that request with the group. The reason why I’d have to share it is because we limit the group to just RDs, so I wouldn’t be able to have you, like, go in there and ask, but if you have something you want me to post in there as far as what you’re looking for and your contact information, then I’m happy to do so.

This doesn’t just go for Laura, obviously. If anyone feels like they need an RD to help out and you’re willing to either work with someone locally or virtually, there is a really big network of Paleo RDs in that group. Also, as you guys know, there are a couple of RDs in the group with the ADAPT program, but if you’re looking for someone who is maybe a little bit less expensive because they’re not as educated on all this functional medicine stuff, then that group would be awesome to get in touch with. Laura and anyone else who’s interested, what you can do is you can email me a description of the help that you’re looking for and also give me a contact email to post in there, and I can share that with people.

Laura’s also mentioning getting a referral list at some point. The one difficulty about that is that I don’t have the time to vet people. If I was going to put together some kind of list of RDs that are available, I wouldn’t be able to tell you whether or not those people are ones that I would recommend. Obviously just because somebody calls themselves a Paleo RD doesn’t mean that they really know what they’re doing. That sounds really harsh, but it’s true. I mean, there’s just a lot of misinformation and confusion, and sometimes even the most well-meaning RD that is following the Paleo recommendations doesn’t always know enough about bio-individuality to help people that are more complicated clients. Definitely you’d want to just check those people out for yourself, so what I can do is I can give them your contact information. If the person wants to get in touch with you, they can, and then you can potentially interview them or have a conversation with them about what their expertise is.

That’s what I’ll do, so if you want to either post in the Facebook group, or you guys could email me or Kelsey. You can email me at Laura@ChrisKresser.com if you want to get something posted. Now, I don’t want people to be emailing me with private questions about the ADAPT program stuff, but if you want to use that as a resource for getting in touch with some other RDs, then I’m happy to get you connected. Hopefully that helps.
