Chris Kresser: I think it can be an absolutely life-saving treatment in some cases; for example, kids with severe epilepsy, relatively high doses of CBD have been found to greatly reduce the severity and frequency of seizures more than any other medication, by some parents. This can just be a completely life-altering change because the medications that are used for seizures in kids are pretty brutal in terms of side effects and complications. CBD is even used for pets, dogs, inflammation and other issues for dogs and other pets, so it’s a pretty remarkable plant medicine. We still have a lot to learn about it, but I think overall it’s safe, effective, and generally well tolerated.
