Chris Kresser: I agree 100 percent. Ingredients are way cleaner than most other elemental options. There is also Absorb Plus, which is Jini Patel’s product, but that’s not truly elemental. It’s semi-elemental because the protein source is whey rather than amino acids, which are what are truly an elemental product. Now Jini makes the argument, which there is some research to support, that studies have found that there’s no additional benefit from elemental products versus semi-elemental products, but that research is mostly done in IBD patients, not in patients trying to clear SIBO, so you need to keep that in mind. I like the Integrative Therapeutics as one of the best option. It tastes pretty mild. You’re not going to go across town for it. It’s still pretty gross in my opinion, but it’s not nearly as gross as like Vivonex or something like that, and the ingredients are 50 times better.
