If cortisol is elevated upon waking, do you use the phosphatidylserine before bed to help lower that? Have you seen Proglyco-Synergy for reactive hypoglycemia…? If cortisol is elevated on waking, do you use the PS before bed to help lower that?

Dr. Amy Nett:  Well, you could because you’re saying like a high waking cortisol reflects the overnight cortisol. Yeah, I mean, again to get the 200 to 300 mg in, I would just space it in throughout the day. It depends, of course, what the patients look like, but I haven’t really seen phosphatidylserine having like a sedating effect, so I don’t think there is any reason not to take it during the day, so I would—almost regardless of what the presentation is, if I’ve decided I’m going to use phosphatidylserine in a patient, I’m pretty much always doing breakfast, lunch, and dinner until they get to the breakfast-dinner. Seriphos, if you want to use the—I think it’s phosphorylated serine—so Seriphos you would take just before bed, but phosphatidylserine best taken I think with meals, so that would be the other reason, but that, again, should help to sort of modulate that cortisol rhythm.
