Chris Kresser: Ariel asked, “Subsequent to recording, the lecture”—I assume she means the content of the course—“what’s your experience with efficacy in treating methane-predominant SIBO or IBS-C with Atrantil plus botanicals?”
It varies, so what I found with Atrantil is when it works, it really works, and when it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. Generally, that becomes apparent pretty soon after someone starts using it. I think it’s a good product, and I know Ken Brown. I respect what he is doing, and I like that he is doing research on the product so that we have some data to look at in terms of results, and in my practice, it’s definitely something that we will use and that can be effective, but definitely not always and, in some cases, patients don’t tolerate it very well.
